"AYC's bootcamp offered the perfect opportunity to finally start losing weight and getting in shape rather than just talking about it.  During the course of Boot Camp, I found that showing up each day and succeeding in reaching my goal was also simple thanks to the AYC’s breadth of knowledge, instruction, and counseling.    From the start, it was clear that Greg and Glenn are experts in the field.  I struggled in the past with diet and exercise programs found online and in magazines.  Nothing ever really made sense or kept me interested enough to finish.  AYC Boot Camp was different.  They did all the research and were current on the latest studies in fitness and diet so that I did not have to be.  My role was simply to follow their lead to success.  They helped me set a realistic and healthy goal for weight loss over the twelve week period, provided access to meal plans that fit my tastes and lifestyle, supplemented the instructor led workouts with online exercise assignments, and assisted in tracking our progress.  The exercise program combined strength and stamina training and evolved as the Boot Camp class improved.  Each exercise was demonstrated and Glenn was never shy when it came to making sure the proper form was used or pushing us for just ten more seconds.  All exercises were simple enough that I was able to continue the program and continue improving even while traveling.  In moments of doubt and frustration, Greg was always available with advice and encouragement.  After a week of bad dieting and little exercise, I found new motivation in his response to a late night email when he offered encouragement to stay the course well before most people get out of bed.  Mostly, I felt thankful that a program like this was available to help me reach my goals."

"I met Greg, in 1984, at the studio (he used to manage) and enjoyed his knowledge and teaching style.  When he opened his own personal training business, I followed him.  He has learned all of my health issues and has evolved a workout that keeps me moving and fit in spite of them all.

My husband (Myron) didn't originally work with Greg.  He did his own workout that consisted of riding the stationary bike for cardio and lifting weights for strength.  I would finish my workout, with Greg, all sweaty and tell my husband how hard I worked.  He would always comment that he worked as hard as I, but didn't need a trainer to direct his exercise program. 

After about a year of this routine we were preparing for a dive trip and my husband commented that I would need to get in shape for the rigorous diving schedule we had planned.  I informed him that I was in shape and ready to go. 

He said without completing his workout routine I wouldn't be able to keep up.  I challenged him to try just one of my workouts with Greg to see if he could keep up with me.  I promised him that if he finished my workout standing I would add his routine to mine in preparation for the trip. 

Needless to say, He was exhausted at the end of the workout with Greg.  The very next week, he began his training with Greg and never challenged my fitness again."

"Of course on New Year’s Day I made the resolution to lose 10 pounds and get more fit (didn’t everyone?). By the end of January, there was no progress—how could there be? I didn’t change anything about the way I was eating let along adding to my daily routine some exercise!

But on February 8, all that changed! I joined Weight Watchers to lose 10 pounds and began attending Boot Camps at 11:45 four days each week.

And now, almost 6 months later, having been faithful to not only attend four Boot Camps each week but also to follow the eating plan on Weight Watchers Points Plus, I have lost….(drum roll, please!)….. 14 pounds! That’s exactly 10% of my starting weight. I didn’t take measurements at the beginning but I know I’ve lost inches because I’ve had to buy clothes in a smaller size!! I’m especially excited about the muscle and strength I’ve gained--I’ve never been this fit and felt this good!

I’ve found that there is nothing more empowering than taking control of my lifestyle! Now I eat the proper foods, get exercise each day and drink plenty of water …and I feel great!"
